Eric Perkey, MD, PhD, has just completed his Internal Medicine residency here at the University of Chicago, as part of the Physician Scientist Development Program. He earned his medical degree at the University of Michigan and his PhD in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied the role of lymphoid organ stromal cells and Notch signaling in T-cell immunity and graft-versus-host disease, about which he has already published several times. During Fellowship, Dr. Perkey plans to focus his research on the interface between the immune system, hematopoiesis, and cancer with the goal of pursuing a career as a physician-scientist.
